Heading off to college this fall? Don’t forget to register to vote before you go and request to be added to our absentee voter list so we can send you an application for a ballot.
If you have a driver's license and are a citizen, you can register to vote online at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/RegisterVoter/Index or go to MI.gov/vote for all voting related information.
In person registration for City of Rockford residents is available at City Hall M-Th 7:30am-5pm or Fridays 7:30am-12pm. Please note, to register in person, you need to register with your local clerk. If you live in a township, you need to register with your Township Clerk. The City of Rockford Clerk can only assist residents who live in the city limits.
Students who want to vote should make sure to register with their home address. Your voter registration address and driver's license addresses are always the same. So, registering to vote with your school address results in being issued an updated driver’s license with your school address on it.
If you have questions about registering to vote as a college student, please email kmurphy@rockford.mi.us or call 616-866-1537.
