2022 Nonprofit Relief Grant Program

N

ATTENTION NONPROFITS‼️

The City of Bay City announces the 2022 Nonprofit Relief Grant Program. This grant program focuses on supporting 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) nonprofits that have been negatively impacted and continue to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible organizations may be awarded up to $25,000 in grant funds through this program.

On March 21, 2022, the City of Bay City Commission authorized $500,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to be utilized to create a nonprofit relief grant program to be administered by City of Bay City Economic Development Staff. The primary objective of the program is to provide assistance to nonprofits to cover loss of earnings, decline in revenues, impacts of cancelled fundraising events during periods of closure or limited operations due to public health orders, unexpected expenses related to an increased demand for services or mitigation efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, and other necessary expenditures related to the COVID-19 emergency.

Beginning Friday, May 20, 2022, applications will be available in PDF format on the City’s website and in Room 207 at City Hall, 301 Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708. Nonprofits can either apply online through the City’s website or fill out applications and drop them off at City Hall, emailed applications will not be accepted. The application window opens Friday, May 20, 2022, at 8 a.m. and closes Friday, June 3, 2022, at 5 p.m.

Questions may be directed to Sara Dimitroff or Shelli Thurston in Economic Development. Grant guidelines and applications can be easily accessed by visiting www.BayCityMi.org and scrolling down to the section labeled “Nonprofit Relief Grant Program” on the homepage.
