Dowagiac Fire Department issued the following announcement on Jan 10.
Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation, a day created and promoted by the FBI National Academy to thank officers across the country who risk their lives to protect their communities.
On this day we show our support for our nation’s approximately 780,000 police officers who put a badge on each day, knowing they may face extremely dangerous situations while carrying out their duties.
The Dowagiac Fire Department recognizes and thanks all these brave men and women who protect and serve their communities to keep our Nation safe day after day.
Special shout out to our friends and family of Dowagiac Police Department. If you see an officer today, give them a smile and a wave to show your support!
