City of Dowagiac recently issued the following announcement.

The museum has been overrun with insects!
Bees, flies, butterflies, even Asian insects as big as an adult hand!
Don't worry, they are all part of the new temporary exhibit "The World of Insects" - Open NOW
The Dowagiac Area History Museum will host an open house on Thursday, December 16 from 4-6 p.m. with light refreshments and guest curator Bill Westrate will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about insects.
Bill Westrate is a local Naturalist specializing in Entomology, Botany and Herpetology. He has been collecting insect, plant and reptile specimens for decades and has shown parts of his collection at museums across the Midwest. "A World of Insects" includes hundreds of local and national specimens and examines the habitats and the disappearance of many insects.
OPEN! Tuesday – Thursday 10-5. Saturday 10-2.
