State Representative Timmy Beson testified on a funding request for infrastructure improvements in Kawkawlin Township, Bay County, and the Saginaw Bay Watershed. The request seeks over $1.9 million for a storm sewer system spanning nearly 3,700 feet and a pump station project to address flooding near South Linwood Beach Road.

"This is an area that has experienced flooding and erosion to the road when there is heavy rainfall or snow melt, and these upgrades will protect people’s homes, enhance the community and provide an environmentally responsible outlet for water to filter through," said Beson before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity. He emphasized the impact of flooding on residents' daily lives, stating that some cannot receive mail or have their children picked up for school due to the issue.

Beson hopes to advance this funding proposal to the governor's desk soon, prioritizing Bay County workers and families in Lansing. Kawkawlin Township is part of his representation in the 96th House District.
