State Representative Bill G. Schuette has been honored with the Friend of Industry Award by the Michigan Beverage Association. The award recognizes his contributions to supporting Michigan's beverage industry, which employs thousands of residents and produces nearly all its products within the state.
"Our state's beverage industry employs thousands of people statewide and nearly 100 percent of the products they put in stores are made in Michigan facilities by Michigan workers," Schuette said upon receiving the award. "I am incredibly honored to receive this award and I remain committed to cultivating a healthy environment for job providers and workers both in our region and across Michigan."
Schuette emphasized the importance of policies that foster growth and support careers without imposing burdens on current or prospective businesses. "The outlook for our state is strong when we have commonsense policies that encourage growth, support good-paying careers and don’t burden both job providers currently in Michigan and ones looking to locate here," he added. "I’ll continue to advocate for policies in the Legislature that reflect this reality."
The presentation was attended by members of the association and its Board of Directors. Schuette represents the 95th House District, which encompasses all of Midland County as well as Beaverton, Billings, and Tobacco townships in Gladwin County.
