For the second year in a row, Dow will serve as the official Sustainability Partner of PACK EXPO International 2024. This event is recognized as North America's largest packaging and processing exhibition.
Izabel Assis, North America commercial vice president for Packaging & Specialty Plastics at Dow, stated, "As one of the world’s leading materials science companies, helping to deliver a sustainable future is woven into the very fabric of our culture and the values that propel Dow." She emphasized their enthusiasm about continuing this partnership with PACK EXPO to foster innovative thinking and collaboration in pursuit of a circular economy.
Dow has joined forces with PMMI, McCormick Place, and Independent Recycling Services to enhance recycling infrastructure and increase educational outreach during the event. The aim is to provide informative materials such as recycling tip sheets to help brands meet sustainability goals.
The event will also feature two keynote sessions led by Dow leaders:
- "Catalyzing Circularity: Policy, Products and Partnerships" on Monday, November 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Sustainability Stage. Speakers include Heather Turner (sustainability director) and Jennifer Ronk (senior sustainability marketer).
- "The Packaging Playground: Investing for the Future" on Tuesday, November 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the Innovation Stage. Speakers include Michelle Sauder (marketing director for food & specialty packaging), Kiesha Jones (marketing director for industrial & consumer packaging), and Dr. Rennisha Wickham (senior marketing manager for rigid packaging).
These presentations will focus on improving packaging life cycles through innovative solutions and collaboration aimed at recyclability and circularity.
Assis remarked on their commitment as an industry leader stating, “Our theme at this year’s show is A Circular Vision, The Diamond Standard.” She highlighted Dow's role in connecting the value chain to promote innovation and dialogue around renewable solutions.
PACK EXPO will occur in Chicago from November 3-6, featuring over 2,600 exhibitors and attracting more than 45,000 attendees across various sectors within the packaging industry.
Dow operates globally with manufacturing sites in 31 countries employing approximately 35,900 people. In 2023, Dow reported sales of around $45 billion.
