FOIA Request to Saginaw County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26th.
We at Tri-City Sun, a media organization committed to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have submitted a request under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq. The request was made for records of all payments made to vendors from January 1st, 2024 till September 26th, 2024.
The requested information includes specific fields such as the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid. This information is vital for our ongoing efforts to provide transparency in local government spending and operations.
As members of the media dedicated to reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
