State Rep. Bill G. Schuette recently presented a state tribute to members and leadership of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail Committee during the grand opening of the Tittabawassee River Trail.

“It was my honor to present a State Tribute to Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail on the opening of their new connecting segment,” Schuette said. “As a runner who logs miles on many of these trails, I am grateful, along with so many across the area, for all Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail does to enhance the quality of life and connect our region.”

The opening of this trail segment is seen as a significant step towards completing the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail’s vision of developing more than 100 miles of trail network across the region. This initiative aims to provide public access to green spaces, parks, recreational facilities, and waterfront views. The new 2.5-mile Tittabawassee River Trail segment will offer unique opportunities for wildlife preservation and features one of the largest boardwalks in the area.
