How many students were enrolled in Freeland Community School District in 2022-23 school year?

There were 2,051 students enrolled in Freeland Community School District in the 2022-23 school year, 1% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.8% of them were boys, and 47.2% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 89.9% of the Freeland Community School District total enrollment.

Freeland Community School District covers three schools within Saginaw County with its main office in Freeland. Among them, Freeland Middle School/High School recorded the highest enrollment of 885 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
