Bangor Township Schools Education: 2,646 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,646 students enrolled in Bangor Township Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.7% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were girls, and 50% were boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 83.1% of the Bangor Township Schools total enrollment.

Bangor Township Schools covers six schools within Bay County with its main office in Bay City. Among them, John Glenn High School recorded the highest enrollment of 849 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
