I am pleased to announce that the Board of Education approved Justin Shaner as the new principal of Bay City Central High School at last night’s board meeting. Justin's outstanding leadership skills and dedication to education make him the perfect fit for this critical role. As the current Principal of Western Middle School, a position he has held since 2020, Justin has shown exceptional skill in creating a positive learning environment for students and has a proven track record of success.

Justin's experience as an Assistant Principal at Bay City Central High School and Handy Middle School has given him a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges the school and the community faces. We are confident that his familiarity with Bay City Central High School will enable him to hit the ground running and continue to build on the school's legacy of excellence.

Justin will immediately begin working with the team responsible for the school's redesign. He will be integral to the weekly meetings where we plan and prepare for the exciting changes coming to Bay City Central High School in 2023-24 for incoming ninth-grade students. The district will also work tirelessly to find Justin's replacement at Western Middle School to ensure a seamless transition. I invite you to welcome
