City of Flint seeks public input on federal funding to benefit homeless and vulnerable populations

The City of Flint is seeking public input on its Draft Plan for HOME-ARP grant funding through a public comment period and public hearing. The draft plan and a survey for the general public are available at https://www.cityofflint.com/community-economic-development/.  The public hearing will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the City of Flint Dome Auditorium, 1101 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI  48502./

The City of Flint has been allocated $3,244,570 in HOME-American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) funding for grant programs that benefit qualifying individuals and families who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in other vulnerable populations as defined by the grant program.

The funds can only be used in the following ways: (1) development of affordable rental housing, (2) tenant-based rental assistance (TBRA), (3) provision of supportive services; (4) acquisition and development of non-congregate shelter units, (5) non-profit operating costs; and (6) non-profit capacity building.

The public may send comments or completed surveys by email to: communitydevelopment@cityofflint.com  or deliver to the City of Flint Planning and Development Department, CED Division, 1101 S. Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48502, attention Suzanne Wilcox.
