CONSTRUCTION CORNER
The construction project planned for Eddy Street, N. Birney Street and N. McLellan Street is a true collaboration! From the City departments and divisions taking part in the planning and work – to the funding sources – many entities are making this project a reality.
The work is scheduled to begin in March. You can expect to see the road reconstructed – as well as watermain replacement and upgrades, replacement of lead and/or galvanized water service lines, sewer upgrades and new sidewalks. The accepted project bid came in at $1,167,214.14. Of course, the final price tag may vary a bit.
The nearly $1.2 million comes from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding (which can only be used in low-to-moderate income areas), Landaal Packaging Systems, Brownfield – and City funding from Water, Streets and Sewer.Be sure to stop back next Monday when we share another project in the Construction Corner!
