When the snow is flying – it’s all hands-on-deck. Yes, our Streets team members are who you’ll typically see plowing and salting. However, when there are major snow events workers from other Department of Public Works divisions pitch in as well. Our Parks team members are tasked with clearing public parking lots and dead end streets. In addition, any time a plow is on the road someone from Fleet is back at the DPW building on Marquette Avenue in case a plow breaks down or needs a quick fix.
