America Recycles Day

It’s #AmericaRecyclesDay and what a great way to kick off our annual Holiday Light Recycling Drive beginning today, November 15, 2022, and running through January 15, 2023. Recycle  your broken, old, or out of style holiday string lights this season and put some sparkle back into your holiday!

Residents can drop off their lights to seventeen locations throughout Saginaw County, plus a Gratiot County drop offsite at Wheeler Township Hall. Some locations are offering contactless drop off at an outdoor location while other locations are offering drop off in a low traffic vestibule. All sizes, styles and colors of indoor and outdoor lights can be donated. Only string lights – not other lighted holiday decorations – can be accepted.

Keep in mind while your holiday lights can be recycled, they are not accepted through the MMWA curbside recycling program
