Residents Reminded to Remove Election Signage

With the 2022 election cycle now over, residents are reminded that all election signage must be removed from both residential and commercial properties in accordance with the City of Midland’s zoning ordinance.

Per Article 8 of the City’s zoning ordinance, all election signage placed in the ground or on a wall in support of a candidate or ballot initiative must be removed within 14 days of an election. This article does not regulate flags or decorations.

A civil infraction citation may be issued for violations of the above ordinance. First offenses may result in a $50 fine; the second offense may result in a $250 fine; and the third and subsequent offenses may result in a $500 fine for each day that signs are in violation of the City ordinance.

For more information, contact the City Building Department at 989-837-3383.
