City Of Saginaw - Election Day Reminders And Information

November 4, 2022 SAGINAW, MI – As we enter the month of November, the City of Saginaw would like to provide residents with several helpful reminders to make sure they are informed and prepared for Election Day 2022.

The City Clerk’s Office will be open Saturday, November 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to assist residents with voter registration as well as absentee voting and general election information. The City Clerk’s Office is located at 1315 S. Washington Avenue Room 102. To learn more about in person absentee voting, visit https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/Home/VoteInPerson

For voters going out to the polls on Election Day, City Clerk Janet Santos reminds voters that precinct polling locations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Voters may verify their precinct, polling location, and view a sample ballot online at www.michigan.gov/vote or by visiting the City Clerk’s Office.

City Clerk Santos commented, “A steady voter turnout is expected for the November 8 election and voter patience is appreciated. All voters will be asked to show photo identification. If you do not possess photo identification you can simply complete an affidavit.”

For voters needing transportation to get to the polls on Election Day, Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services (STARS) is offering the following services on November 8: 

  • On Tuesday, November 8, all STARS fixed route services will be free. On this day only, STARS Fixed Routes will run until 9PM so that all voters have a ride home after the polls close. 
  • Voters aged 60 and over and gold card holders can ride STARS LIFT for free to vote. To schedule your free LIFT ride to vote, call STARS LIFT at (989)753-9526 Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Rides must be scheduled at least one business day in advance.
  • Voters unable to use bus routes or STARS LIFT can use STARS Rides to Wellness for free round trips to their polling location on Election Day. This offer is available only for voters who cannot access their polling location by STARS bus routes or STARS LIFT. These rides can be scheduled at least one business day in advance by calling (844) 532-7433.
