Curbside Fall Leaf Collection begins Monday, October 31

GET YOUR RAKE ON: The first round of Curbside Fall Leaf Collection begins Monday, October 31 in Area B! Residents in all areas of the city should begin raking their leaves to the street at this time and residents in Area B should prepare their leaves for collection.

We begin each year in Area B, then proceed to areas C, D, and A. Not sure what area you're in? Have no fear! You can visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/leafupdate to view your schedules AND get progress updates daily on our Track the Trucks leaf map.

A few leaf collection reminders:

• Leave one foot of gutter space between the leaf pile and the curb to allow a path for water to properly drain from the street;

• Avoid placing brush, sticks, branches, children, your hopes and dreams, or refuse into curbside leaf piles, as this creates a safety hazard for crews and equipment.

• Place fall yard waste (sticks, pumpkins, etc.) in yard bags or blue City bins at the curb on refuse collection day. No stickers are required on bags or bins through the end of leaf collection!

• Residents who live on the following streets, or on a street currently under construction, should rake their leaves to their outlawns: Ashman Street from the Circle to Main, Bay City Road, Buttles Street, Eastman Avenue, George and Cronkright Streets between Indian and Ellsworth, Indian Street, Isabella Street, Lyon Road, Main Street, Patrick Road from Indian to Waldo, Waldo Avenue from Bay City Road to Henry, Rodd Street, and Saginaw Road.

Yes, we know A comes before B. Area B is our largest area and typically sees the most leaf volume, so we like to start there. Nothing against Area A; y'all are probably pretty cool.
