This last weekend in Roscommon, Michigan was very special to many members of the City of Caro Fire Department. Memories were made, tears were shed, and the fire brotherhood was cultivated to the fullest.
Caro fire members took 2nd, and 3rd place in pov truck bright light show down. Another took 1st place in the miscellaneous category for his firefighter edition 9-11 memorial Harley Davidson and another recieved a plaque for the oldest-farthest traveled fire truck with Caro's former 1989 Engine 1. All of this was fun but the real reason for this weekend is to stand on the hallowed ground of the Michigan Firemen's Memorial. The sight is truly a humbling place.
Fred Galsterer's name was placed on the wall this year to honor his dedication to the City of Caro. Tuscola County had a few more names go on the wall as well from neighboring departments. This was a emotional time to honor the lives of the men and women who have dedicated their lives to preserve life and protect property in the State of Michigan.
