Over the last couple weeks, the City of Caro Fire Department has not been idle.
We strongly believe that training is an essential part of our job and duty to better serve our community. Caro Fire had the opportunity to work with Marlette Fire Department at POET Biorefining. We did a walk through tour of their facilities and then did a mock senario of a person in medical distress on top of a silo. A tower ladder truck was used to safely bring the patient the the ground level where emergency medical personnel would be able to treat and transport the victim. The second training included a two day course on tractor and machinery emergencies.
This course was put on by the ESRT ( Emergency Services Rescue Training). Caro Fire and Bridgeport Fire Rescue worked together on how to handle incidents involving different varieties of emergencies with farm impliments and machinery. The City of Caro Fire would like to thank our training officer, David Peters, for organizing these knowledge filled trainings, Marlette and Bridgeport Fire for their participation, Poet Biorefining and Farm Depot for the use of their facilities, and ESRT for providing top notch training.
