The November 8, 2022 ballot will include the election of 4 City Council seats and 2 Saginaw Board of Education candidates. The City Clerk’s Office would like to remind all interested candidates of the filing process and the upcoming filing due date.
The filing deadline for the November election is Tuesday, July 26, 2022 by 4:00 p.m. Petitions and the Affidavit of Identity forms must be filed with the City Clerk’s Office, located at 1315 S. Washington Avenue Room 102. Nominating petitions and Affidavit of Identity forms are available in the City Clerk's Office. All forms turned into the City Clerk’s Office must be original forms. Candidates should visit the City Clerk’s Office if additional forms are needed as copies of these forms will not be accepted.

The Saginaw Board of Education is comprised of 7 members to serve six-year terms. School Board candidates are eligible to either pay a $100.00 nonrefundable filing fee, or file nominating petitions, along with their Affidavit of Identity form with the City Clerk. Saginaw City Clerk Janet Santos commented on the guidelines, “We want to remind anyone who is interested in filing as a City Council or Board of Education candidate of the July 26 filing deadline and how they can obtain the proper forms. We are available here in the City Clerk’s Office to answer questions regarding the process and how to file.” Hours for the City Clerk’s Office are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
