What’s it like in Engineering Services in the summer? BUSY! This is when street construction takes place and services which are difficult or impossible to handle in the winter are completed.
Today we’re tagging along with Engineering Technician Bryan Warju. He is on the go from the minute he walks in to the minute he leaves. “I’m always putting out fires,” Warju explains. Between regularly budgeted street projects, Consumers Energy’s gas main replacements, and special funding for sidewalks, lead line replacements and street projects – it’s an incredibly busy construction season.
On this day he had a few contractors to check up on. Warju oversees their work to assure it’s up to our standards. Warju also prides himself on building relationships with contractors so they know he’s available for questions and advice. Check back tomorrow to see what they’re working on.
