City of Flint issued the following announcement on Mar 8.

The City of Flint announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 2022 Flint Resilience in Communities After Stress and Trauma (ReCAST) Community Mini-Grant Program in January and now ReCAST is asking for community input on the grant finalists.

Flint ReCAST launched a new website and a 2022 Community Mini-Grant Program voting platform for the Flint community to help determine which finalists will receive a mini-grant ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.

This year’s Flint ReCAST Community Mini-Grant Program received a record number of applications with the 21 top finalists moving to the next round of community voting. The mini-grantees process has a standard scoring review and the new community voting component will ensure projects are informed by community participatory budgeting and input.

“The record number of applicants shows a great need in the community to support trauma-informed youth engagement work. It was difficult to choose the finalists,” said City of Flint Chief Resilience Officer, Lottie Ferguson. “While we are not able to award funds to all of the applicants, we are incredibly excited and grateful to learn more about the multitude of programs happening in Flint that address the needs of our community.“

The community now has the opportunity to see what programs have been proposed and vote for their favorite one with up to 12 grants being awarded.

• Community members can vote here: flintrecast.org/get-involved

• Each community member can only vote one time

• Click “vote”, a window will pop up asking for your zip code before your vote registers

• A running tally within the page will be displayed showing how many votes each program has received.

Voting is now open until Friday March 11, 2022 at 5pm with grantees announced the week of March 14, 2022.

Flint ReCAST is a program of the City of Flint and the Greater Flint Health Coalition.

Questions about the RFP process should be directed to Kristin Stevenson, Program Manager at kstevenson@flint.org or (810) 232-2228 x257.
