Bay-Arenac ISD issued the following announcement on Feb 23.
ATTENTION CHILD CARE PROVIDERS
In partnership with the Bay Area Community Foundation, we are offering an onboarding stipend for child care providers (scholarship to support the provider's costs to hire new staff). Funding is limited.
This opportunity will be open until funding is exhausted from the Bay Area Community Foundation COVID Emergency Fund.
Details are below:
$100 per new child care staff person to cover the cost of the following:
• Fingerprinting (Approximately - $65.00)
• MiRegistry PD Costs - Health & Safety Training (Approximately - $10)
• CPR/First Aid (Approximately - $15.00)
• $10 misc. (staff mileage, other, etc.)
Eligible employers:
• Licensed Child Care Providers (Licensed Homes and Centers)
• Participating in Great Start to Quality with a STAR rating
• Non-Head Start and Non-GSRP staff
• Limited to 75 awards of $100
Child Care Provider (Employer) must have an agreement with the employee to work for at least 90 days or the employee will have to reimburse the employer for the $100 onboarding costs.
Bay-Arenac ISD will administer the grant on behalf of the Bay Area Community Foundation.
