Water Systems Superintendent

City of Alma

Alma, MI

The City of Alma is currently seeking a Water Systems Superintendent. Under the direction of the Director of Public Services, this individual supervises and directs all routine operations of the Alma Water Division and Gratiot Area Water Authority (GAWA). These functions include but are not limited to, day-to-day operations, routine maintenance, and repair of all physical assets of the Alma Water System and of GAWA (including wells, storage facilities, elevated storage tank, meters, and all other related facilities and assets). All aspects of operations and maintenance are required to meet all State and Federal Regulatory criteria. Responsible for general administration operational budgeting, personnel management, and makes capital needs assessment, and policies and procedures recommendations to the Director of Public Services.

Requirements: Associate degree in engineering chemistry, environment science, or related field, or equivalent. Five or more years of progressively more responsible experience in water treatment and equipment repair and maintenance including supervisory experience preferred. State of Michigan EGLE F-1 and S-2 certification or ability to acquire within agreed time frame and the ability to maintain certified status throughout employment.

Salary range: $62,961 - $81,848 depending on qualifications and experience. Deadline to apply: Open until filled.
