City of Caro issued the following announcement on Jan 19.
The members of The City of Caro Fire Department are saddened to announce the passing of active fire deptartment member , Fred Galsterer. Freddy was a proud, dedicated, and courageous memeber of the dept for over 45yrs. Fred served many rolls over his years on the dept including Firefighter, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Engineer.
He was not only a brother in service but a friend, a book of knowledge, and a mentor to many. You will be missed brother but never forgotten.
