City of Alma issued the following announcement on Dec 18.
One Time Brush Pickup Notice:
Due to the high winds we have experienced over the past couple weeks our Public Works Crew will be making a ONE TIME drive through the City to pickup brush. The brush must be at the curb no later than 6 am on Monday, December 20, 2021. If it is not the at the curb by 6 am on Monday, December 20th, it will not be picked up and the debris must be taken back to the rear yard until the spring yard waste program starts. Thank you for your attention to the date and time for this one time pick up.
Please remember, the following rules still apply:
The City will collect up to 2 cubic yards of solids (for example: nominal pile 5 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 2.5 feet tall) of residential yard waste (not including “air” between branches), if placed in approved containers or bundles.
1. All limbs must be separated from recycling materials and general refuse at the curbside.
2. All tree limbs must be placed in piles, not bundled, with all stems lying in the same direction. Large limbs, up to four (4) inches in diameter must be delimbed to reduce size for sufficient handling.
3. Large tree limbs over four (4) inches in diameter, tree stumps, tree roots, or excessive quantities of branches from heavy tree trimming or tree removal will NOT be collected.
4. Placement of yard waste shall not obstruct sidewalks or public streets.
