City of East Jordan recently issued the following announcement.
Join Jordy the Walleye for a behind the scenes look at where the water goes after the flush. On Tuesday, August 3rd, the city will host an open house at the wastewater treatment plant.
The short walking tour will take visitors behind the scenes through the plant’s water quality testing laboratory, headworks building and process tanks. Most of the tour will take place outside, so dress for the weather that day.
Jordy will be there with games for the kids and an update on the fish rearing project. The gates will be open and staff will be onsite from noon until 3pm.
The plant is located at 6100 Airport Drive, at the end of the cul-de-sac in the Industrial Park.
Tours are available throughout the year for individuals, school groups, scouts, and clubs. For more information about tours or specifics about the wastewater plant, please call Kate at 231-536-9774.
