City of Flint issued the following announcement on July 15.
Flint is proud to be the first city in Genesee County to have a state park!
Mayor Sheldon A. Neeley joined Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Congressman Dan Kildee, Mott Foundation, Flint & Genesee Group, Michigan Department of Natural Resources and many other supporters of Flint in announcing Chevy Commons becoming a state park.
The development of this park is because of the community and those that love Flint. Residents and their families will now have more beautiful outdoor space to enjoy.
