MidMichigan Health issued the following announcement.
Obstetrician/Gynecologist Andrew Brown, M.D., has recently joined MidMichigan Health. He sees patients in Midland, Clare and West Branch and performs surgeries and delivers babies at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.
“I am passionate about women’s health,” said Dr. Brown. “It is a joy being able to deliver happy, healthy babies and being able to grow with my patients.”
Dr. Brown believes a thriving doctor-patient relationship is the cornerstone of good medicine and is particularly crucial in his field of specialty.
“By its nature, OB/GYN can involve very personal issues but my patients have my attention, support, and commitment. It is my responsibility to listen, constantly strive to improve my abilities, keep up-to-date with new trends in medicine, and nurture an environment of honesty, integrity, and mutual respect. Ultimately, I aim to create an environment in which my patients feel comfortable regardless of age, race, identity, or orientation.”
Dr. Brown offers a variety of minimally invasive procedures, including procedures using the da Vinci® surgical robot and some that can be performed in the office.
“One of the most exciting developments in gynecology involves minimally invasive surgery and expedited recovery. Many major surgeries that historically required large incisions, prolonged hospital stays, and substantial pain management can now be accomplished with small incisions and minimal pain medication requirement,” said Dr. Brown. “Patients can rest comfortably in their beds at home, the same day as the procedure.”
His other special interests include colposcopy, infertility treatment, laparoscopic hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, treatment for urinary incontinence and managing high-risk pregnancies.
Dr. Brown earned a Doctor of Medicine degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem, Pa. He is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology.
His office locations are in the Campus Ridge Building, 4401 Campus Ridge Drive, Suite LL0110 in Midland, at MidMichigan Medical Offices – Clare, 602 Beech Street, Suite 3100 in Clare and at MidMichigan Health Park - West Branch, 640 Court Street (M-30) in West Branch.
In his free time, Dr. Brown enjoys art. “I majored in Art History in college and maintain a passion for the Italian Renaissance and Post-Impressionist works,” he explained.
Dr. Brown is excited to join the Midland community along with his wife, Aimee, and daughter, Olivia.
