MIDMICHIGAN HEALTH: The funds will support the Diabetes Blood Glucose Strip

MidMichigan Health issued the following announcement on August 18.

Ed Morris, worshipful master of Centre Lodge #273, Midland’s Masonic Lodge, presented a check totaling $3,040 to Erin White, R.N., manager of the Diabetes Center at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland. Also present was Richard Wilson, past master, John Kall, secretary, along with Stephanie Fordos, assistant, and Ashley Shankool, educator, both of the Medical Center’s Diabetes Center.

“For many patients and their families, especially those without insurance, the daily expense of living with diabetes can be overwhelming,” said White. “We are extremely grateful for Centre Lodge #273, Midland’s Masonic Lodge continued support.”

The funds will support the Diabetes Blood Glucose Strip Fund program under the auspices of the MidMichigan Health Foundation. This program helps individuals without insurance and the financial means to afford supplies to manage their condition. Centre Lodge has for many years provided financial support to the Diabetes Center. The money is raised through an annual benefit spaghetti dinner. In addition, the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation matches some of the money raised.
