77 percent of applicants to Saginaw Valley State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Saginaw Valley State University, 83 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in University Center enrolled 8,515 students in fall 2018, including 7,719 in undergraduate and 796 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 2 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (74 percent) and Black or African American (8 percent).

The school admitted 77 percent of the 7,329 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 28 percent enrolled.
