Event Description:

As businesses reopen across the nation, companies are looking at different alternatives to keep their facilities clean and their workforces protected from COVID-19. Could UV light be the answer? Studies have shown that UV light can be used to kill airborne COVID-19 particles and disinfect surfaces, providing a viable alternative to chemical disinfection methods. On this episode of New Normal, we are joined by Michelle D'Souza, CEO of Unified Business Technologies, to discuss the effectiveness of UV light to kill COVID-19 and the products her company has developed for medical and non-medical applications.

Guest:

Michelle D'Souza, President, Unified Business Technologies

Growing up in Goa, India, Michelle D'Souza had to overcome the cultural obstacles of being a woman entrepreneur. She started a cooling business at the age of 16, and within two years she was a major contributor to her family's income. In 1993 Michelle moved to the United States where she worked as a stockbroker. Michelle started UBT in 1997, specializing in Information Technology. Today, UBT has offices in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington DC and over 150 employees.  UBT is well diversified with divisions in Manufacturing, Active Protection System, Professional Services, IT, Telecommunications, and Construction Management.
