Residents throughout Michigan are making and displaying signs of support for the first responders and health care workers who are on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
These messages of support are appearing on sidewalks, driveways, storefronts and even in front of hospitals — pretty much anyplace a sign can be displayed, MLive.com reported in April.
The signs are emblematic of a nationwide trend to show appreciation for the COVID-19 warriors at a time when many people are staying home to do their part to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
A sign outside Saginaw's Covenant HealthCare Hospital reads "Heroes work here," MLive.com reported.
The marquee of the Prime Event Center in downtown Bay City has an encouraging message that reads "Tough times don't last long."

As of May 22, approximately 54,000 have tested positive for COVID-19 in Michigan and there have been 5,158 deaths, according to the state.
