The Tri-City Post of the Michigan State Police is offering local organizations the opportunity to receive active shooting training as well as have their buildings assessed for safety.
The training will be conducted by Trooper Mark Burch, a 21-year MSP veteran who has received extensive critical incident training from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. His background includes training to respond to bombings, active shooters and threats to critical infrastructure.
Burch, who has in the past held training sessions for schools, churches, retailers and other organizations, is certified in Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events, Stop The Bleed and Teaching, Education, and Mentoring.
Any Tri-City area organization interested in holding a training session or receiving a building safety assessment can contact Burch directly at burchm@michigan.gov. The training is free of cost.
